This song has a beautiful sound, I love the lines about eating glass and “swallowing myself whole”. Trying to leave someone you love is like trying to leave a part of yourself behind, trying to swallow yourself. It’s all consuming and everything else seems lead you back to them. In the end, as the line says “you’re too much to hold” you can’t really hold on to anyone, life is finite and nobody can really own anybody, it’s an ongoing choice, you have to give your breath and receive theirs.
